About Manbo Marie Lucie
I am a Reiki Practitioner based in New Orleans, La. Before getting a certification in Reiki, I received a degree in Clinical Social Work. I used the tools from my education to dive deeply into shadow work. Shadow work helped me to heal from the painful experiences that were a part of growing up as a Haitian immigrant in the US navigating the loss of home, connection with family and the culture differences between Norwalk, Connecticut and Arcahaie, Haiti.
In December of 2018, a friend strongly suggested we both do a Reiki certification together at Minka Brooklyn. The course was coming up in just a few weeks and though I hadn’t heard of Reiki prior to her mentioning this course I agreed to do it. My friend ended up backing out a few days ahead of the certification, I still chose to go through with it. This decision has been the most rewarding aspect of my spiritual journey. Over the last six years my walk with Reiki has been an enriching and magical adventure. Reiki has been a teacher, a healer and a guide as I worked towards walking in my purpose. It helped me to navigate the heavy work of clearing ancestral karma with grace. It has guided me to build greater connection with nature and to develop my own practices for building my chi. Reiki helps me to navigate my human journey and spiritual work with inner peace and love on a daily basis.
The quality I admire most about Reiki’s expression through me is that she is gentle yet impactful. She moves like this ancient, flowing yet deeply grounded mother. She is expansive, generous and grace filled. Prior to walking with Reiki, I could be described as an “A type personality” independent, in control and goal oriented. I used to say I felt very militant in my approach to life, I was oriented to getting things done, but I never felt fulfilled with the results of my accomplishments. Reiki taught me that what I had been seeking was a state of being. Through my relationship with Reiki I have come to embody a more expansive, grounded and graceful state of being. It is from this mental, spiritual and energetic quality of being that I have co-created the Reiki Chapel.
The mission of The Reiki Chapel is to provide offerings for you to build your chi, practice mental and emotional hygiene and deepen your connection with the life giving forces that walk with you and reside within you. My hope is that these offerings will help you to navigate your human journey with grace, ease and power.
